New AI law: Europe abolishes progress!

The EU, known for its penchant for smothering innovation, has found a new toy: artificial intelligence. And how could it be otherwise, they want to immediately strangle it with their over-regulating hands. The latest AI regulation with the sonorous name "Artificial Intelligence Act" could mean the end for ChatGPT in Europe. What a pity!

ChatGPT, the superstar of the AI world, has created a real hype about artificial intelligence. But of course the EU sees things differently. She would like to evaluate the various AI systems according to their risk and, depending on the classification, introduce bans and obligations. Yes, you heard that right, bans! The EU wants to ban AI systems with unacceptable risk because they could allegedly endanger people. As if we humans weren't capable of taking care of ourselves.

And it gets even better. The EU also has a problem with AI systems that allegedly employ "subliminal or intentionally manipulative techniques". Well, dear EU, if that's your problem, then I suggest you ban yourself. You are the masters of subliminal manipulation when it comes to patronizing the citizens and imposing even more regulations on them.

But wait, the fun doesn't stop there. The EU also wants the makers of AI systems to meet transparency requirements. They should disclose that the generated content was created by AI. Of course, as if we're all too stupid to realize we're dealing with a machine. But there is more. Operators must also disclose proprietary data they used to train their AI. Why? Isn't it enough that the EU monitors us in every respect? Now they also want to know where our AI got its knowledge from.

So it's no wonder that OpenAI, the mother of ChatGPT, is threatening to withdraw from Europe. The EU has really managed to stifle progress. Sam Altman, co-founder of OpenAI, laments the over-regulation and says that while they will try to comply with the law, if in doubt they could exit the European market. The EU should beware, because if they let ChatGPT go, they will not only lose a breakthrough technology, but also plenty of uses for pointless bureaucratic babble.

Europe, it's time to wake up! Instead of stifling progress, we should use the opportunities of artificial intelligence. But no, the EU will probably once again take the path of least resistance and put an end to innovation. I wonder when they will find their next victim and send us all back into the dark ages of technology.

It seems the EU would rather drown in an ocean of bureaucracy than ride the waves of progress. Instead of recognizing the value of AI systems like ChatGPT and using them as a tool for the future, they want to burden them with shackles and limitations. Transparency requirements and disclosure requirements are nothing more than an excuse to bully developers and stifle the flow of innovation.

It is really unfortunate to see Europe sideline itself. Rather than being a center for technological advancement and innovation, it becomes a museum for outdated regulations. While other countries and regions leap into the future, Europe is stuck in the past, wedged between over-regulating bureaucrats and fearful politicians.

If Europe isn't careful, it will fall behind. Companies like OpenAI will not endlessly bow to EU demands and restrictions. They will go somewhere else where they are welcome and free to develop their technology. Europe will then only be able to watch as progress passes it and other regions reap the fruits of artificial intelligence.

It is time for the EU to reconsider its stance and recognize the true value of artificial intelligence. Instead of demonizing and over-regulating, it should have an open and innovative attitude towards new technologies. This is the only way Europe can assume a leading role in the global technology landscape and face the challenges of the future.

Let's hope that the EU learns from its mistakes and embarks on the path of progress. Otherwise we will soon find ourselves in a world where Europe is just a spectator and others shape the future. It's time to break the chains of bureaucracy and seize the opportunities presented by artificial intelligence.

The clock is ticking Europe, so wake up and use your potential before it's too late!
